Pricing, quotes and what things cost
Money questions come up on nearly every call, and the answers never change. Every job across our general plumbing work is quoted the same way, whether it is a dripping tap or a full renovation fit-out.
What does it cost to have a plumber come out?
Nothing to find out. The call out fee is $0, your plumber assesses the job properly, and you receive one fixed written price covering the whole repair before any work begins.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or public holidays?
No. We price the job, not the clock, so a 9am Tuesday callout and a late Sunday emergency are quoted exactly the same way, with no overtime loading added anywhere.
Why a fixed price instead of an hourly rate?
Hourly billing rewards slow work and punishes complications. A fixed price written before we start means the invoice matches that number no matter how long the repair takes to finish.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Card and cash are accepted on the day, and payment plans are available for larger jobs such as replacing a hot water system or major drainage excavation work.

Availability and after-hours emergencies
Emergencies do not keep business hours, and neither do we. The emergency plumbing hub explains what counts as urgent and what to do first, and these questions cover the rest.
How quickly can you get here in an emergency?
A licensed plumber answers the phone directly, day or night, and the van heading your way has usually just left a job nearby. You get an honest arrival estimate on the call.
What should I do while I wait for the plumber?
Turn off the water at the meter or the nearest isolation valve. For a suspected gas leak, shut the gas at the meter, open windows, leave the area and call us.
Do you really answer at 2am?
Yes. Real humans answer around the clock, including weekends and public holidays, and you speak straight to a licensed plumber rather than being routed through an overseas call centre.
Is a burst flexi hose something I can wait on?
No. In the strata towers around here a burst hose floods through floors within minutes and damages the apartments below, so isolate the supply first and then call us immediately.

Services and what we handle
The full service list lives on the home page, but these are the queries we field most often, from strata paperwork to the specific fixtures residents ask about, including toilet repairs and leak detection.
Which services do you cover?
Everything a home or apartment needs, organised across four hubs covering emergencies, general repairs, drainage and hot water, from a tap washer through to full pipe relining.
Can you work in apartment buildings with strata approval requirements?
Yes, and it is the majority of our work in this suburb. We prepare the documentation committees need and quote with real numbers so the approval conversation starts properly informed.
Do you handle gas work?
We do. Gas fitting is carried out under proper gas work licence, covering leak response, cooktop and heater connections, balcony bayonet points and gas hot water system repairs.
Do you install water filters and appliances?
Yes. Filters are mounted where cartridges can actually be serviced later, and appliances are fitted with proper restraints and isolation valves rather than the quick hose connections we keep replacing.

Plumbing this side of the bridge
This suburb throws up plumbing questions most places never see, shaped by towers, walk-ups and a harbour foreshore. The drainage pages dig into several of them in detail, and these answers give the short version.
Why do hot water systems here seem to fail together?
Many buildings run central hot water plant, so one breakdown leaves dozens of households cold at once, while unit-level cylinders inside the older walk-ups age quietly on their own schedule.
What is wrong with the old pipes behind 1930s walls?
The surviving art deco blocks still carry galvanised risers from the 1930s, and decades of internal corrosion thin the pipe wall until it pinholes and stains the render outside.
Why do drains back up during big storms?
The suburb is almost entirely hard surface, so intense rain funnels down steep grades toward the harbour with nowhere to soak, surcharging the ageing low-level box drains at the foreshore.
Are the cafes responsible for our blocked stacks?
Partly. The cafe and restaurant cluster near the station feeds fat loads into shared stacks and street mains, so grease build-ups rank alongside structural faults on our diagnosis list.
Can you inspect drains before I buy an apartment?
Yes, and we genuinely recommend it. A pre-purchase camera survey shows cracked earthenware, displaced joints or root intrusion before any of it quietly becomes your repair bill after settlement.

Where we work and who turns up
Coverage and credentials round out the list. Beyond this suburb we run dedicated pages for Kirribilli, Lavender Bay, McMahons Point, North Sydney and Kurraba Point.
Do you service nearby suburbs?
We cover the peninsula and the wider North Sydney area, with dedicated pages for Kirribilli, Lavender Bay, McMahons Point, North Sydney and Kurraba Point, each written for that suburb.
Is every plumber who turns up licensed?
Fully. The team works under licence #275278C with insurance behind every job, and the compliance certificates your building's paperwork trail needs arrive with the invoice, without you asking. Still deciding? The about page explains how we work, contact has the callback form, and the phone lines are open right now.
